Description
Lots of different techniques were used in this painting. I started with a general toning of the paper. Keeping things loose, I applied several layers of watercolor, merging the colors in various ways. Once areas began to form, I deepened the tones. Towards the end, I applied scattered, random marks with caran d'ache. The final step was adding the stars using a flicking motion, first with a small paintbrush, then a toothbrush filled with white gouache.
